Sydney Now Has an On-Demand Ferry Service
Captain Cook Cruises has announced the launch of Sydney’s first on-demand ferry service. Operating between Elizabeth Bay, Garden Island and Circular Quay, passengers can “hail” small ferries using a new app called Ahoy. The app finds the nearest ferry, requests it and tracks its journey and arrival time.
The same cost as a regular ferry journey in Sydney, you can even pay using your Opal card, as well as with cash, credit card or the Captain Cook Cruises app. The inner-eastern suburbs on-demand ferry service will run from Monday to Friday and passengers will board the cruise company’s 12-metre “tubby-class” boats, which can carry up to 60 people.
